I have to say that this treatment began a day of magic for me… during the treatment, I had a variety of experiences (colors, images, smells) and I got that it worked with my soul for clearing (I get a particular sensation when that happens). Afterward, I received nearly blinding insight into my core wound, made some pivotal connections with my divine path, and moved a TON of energy. More on Sound Therapy

How often have you turned on the radio and heard a song that made you bounce in your seat?  How about the feeling you get when you hear the sound of a soldier playing taps?  What about the amazing chills that runs up the back of your spine when a good gospel singer lets it rip?  Can you see with just these examples how powerfully sound can affect you – physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually?

Everything in the Universe is vibrating – every atom, every molecule, even you. Remember your high school science?  Everything that vibrates emits some kind of sound. The sound waves travel and interact with each other throughout the space time continuum. Sound began with that first sound, (the sound of the big bang), which in some ancient traditions is the sound of OM - the first, sacred sound that birthed our universe into being.

When we are out of tune, dissonant, or out of harmony with our environment, we begin to feel ill at ease and can begin fairly quickly to display signs of illness or dis-ease. Sound therapy is a marvelous way to re-attune and re-harmonize ourselves with our environment and return to a natural and healthy state of being.

Sound has long been used in the medical community to see inside (Ultrasound) and to return the body to a state of wellness.  Sound therapy is an ancient practice designed to return the client or patient to a state of harmony and balance. There are three fundamental principals behind the practice, and its effectiveness. They are harmonics, resonance and entrainment. Harmonics is the expression of the same note or sound vibration at a higher frequency than the fundamental note. Resonance is a matching of frequencies with the natural frequency. Entrainment is the matching of brain waves to a desired frequency.  All of the sounds created by the sound healer act on the luminous energy field or electromagnetic field of the client – much like a piano tuner uses a tuning fork to tune a piano, the sound healer uses his or her instruments and voice and these principals to “tune” the four body system that we are.  Each “body”, the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual, require differing tones or sounds to bring them into harmony with each other and with the environment. This is all very interesting “left brained” information but it’s not necessary to learn about or understand it to receive the maximum benefits of a session. 

Many sound healing practitioners have been formally or informally trained as musicians however this isn’t a required qualification.  There are also many in the field who are naturally and intuitively gifted and can be even more powerful healers because they have opened themselves to Spirit as the guiding force for the session.

Some of the many tools that can be used to facilitate sound healing include rattles, bells, chimes, gongs, tuning forks, metal or crystal singing bowls, the didgeridoo and the human voice. Each of these tools has a differing use within a session.  Most sound healing sessions are intuitively driven. The healer will intuitively know to use differing beats, rhythms, sounds and volumes in each unique circumstance because no two people have the exact same vibration and issues to be resolved.  No matter what is used, you are sure to leave the session feeling shifted at a very profound level.

Working with sacred sound to heal, balance and harmonize is beautiful, natural and restorative - people can really feel the difference after a sound session. It’s easy, it’s fun and it’s an almost effortless way to return yourself to “Sound” health!

Amethyst is a naturally ordained sound healer working primarily with Crystal Singing Bowls and voice accompanied by bells, drums, gongs & rattles.  She is a member of the Sound Healers Association and has received voice & tuning fork training under Jonathon Goldman  one of the most prominent pioneers of the field of Sound Therapy.

Sound healing sessions are very well suited for phone work which allows the client to receive in the comfort of their own home – phone sessions are recorded so they can be re-visited at any time the client wishes to receive again.  She also offers Sound Healing in a Group format via The Crystal Singing Bowl Healing Experience and is available and able to travel with the bowls for bookings at expos, events, workshops, seminars and intensives nationwide.

Because Amethyst is also a fully trained shamanic healer if during a sound session something comes up that is best handled using one of those tools or techniques she is fully equipped to serve in that way as well.
